S O P H O M O R E

Oh goodness, watching the video of our intoduction from the begining of the year shows me how muchs ive changed. Ive changed A L O T . My hair was completely different, and i was really tan. My style has stayed the same. My personality has changed a little bit. But you can tell that from the video. Its something you can only see in person , if you knew me now and then youd know. Ive became alot bravier, less shy , and more open to trying new things.

At the begining of the year, i was completely new to heights. I didnt know anyone , and i was so scared that noone would like me and id end up having one of the worst school years of my life. Turns out, i was wrong. Ive made tons of friends, and a few really great ones. From what i know, the majority of people like me. Im not being vein or anything, i just dont give people reasons to dislike me. And its also been a fantastic school year.

English class, has been difficult for me this whole year , im pretty sure i failed. I am not proud of that either, the work load is just too much . And i honestly hate how we have to do all the work on the computer because thats really not what i want to do. Paper work is much easier for me to remember and complete. Im sure ill have to do summer school for a few classes , but thats okay as long as i can make them up.

Im dissapointed that next year i wont be going to heights agian . Ive been to 3 different highschools already , and i was just getting used to this one. Im tired of changing schools, hopefully my next school will last me through the end of highschool.

I havnt dated anyone at all this sophomore year . Ive talked to 3 guys i think , and i didnt like any of them enough to date them. Except for maybe the one im talking to now , but thats a differnt story.

I got a job this sophomore year , thats exciting (:
Also , went to prom!

I cant wait to see what kind of interesting things my junior year will bring me !

Interesting.

Right now , i have nothing on my mind to write about. I do not feel like spilling out my guts and talking about feelings. I have no topic to talk on. And i dont feel like writing one of my usual blogs, so today im doing something different. Im going to take a look at statistics, research what statistics actually are, and share some.
(:

Also, some interesting facts.
Enjoy!
Statistics: Statistics is the mathematical science involved in the application of quantitative principles to the collection, analysis, and presentation of numerical data.

Interesting Statistics:
*Only 1% of the population has a "genius" IQ, one of 140 or higher
*Half of the people killed by bombs are those trying to make or set the bombs.
*In a study of 3,000 people that made New Year's resolutions in 2007, only 12% stuck to them. The resolution with the greatest chance of success was "to enjoy life more".
*For every 100,000 girls, 223 will become doctors and 17,475 will become nurses.
*Over 50% of people who win the lottery jackpot return to work.
*Number of men who have written letters proposing marriage to Vanna White: 3506

Now for some interesting facts.
Interesting Facts:
*Fortune cookies were actually invented in America, not China!
* A hurricane releases more energy in 10 minutes, than all the world's nuclear weapons combined
* The cigarette lighter was invented before the match
* Your smell is unique: Your body odor is unique to you — unless you have an identical twin. Even babies recognize the individual scents of their mothers
* Babies eyes are always blue when they are born. Their true color develops over time.
* You are taller in the morning than any other time of the day.
*Where you are and how you are placed in the enviroment triggers your memory.
* Only humans shed emotional tears.
* Butterflys taste with their feet.
* A ducks quack will not echo.
* The sentence "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" uses every letter in the English language.
* The average human eats 8 spiders in their lifetime at night
*"I am." is the shortest complete sentence in the English language
* Women blink nearly twice as much as men
*Cat's urine glows under a black light
*Tigers have striped skin, not just striped fur.

Lost Boys.

A few days ago in English class i watched a video on the Lost Boys in Africa. If you didnt already know, the lost boys are a a group of over 20,000 children, mostly boys, from ages 7-17 who were seperated from their families. These children trekked great distances over dangerous wilderness, to seek refuge from all the fighting going on where they were from. While starving, and with diseases they crossed from Sudan to Ethotopia and back. Many children died along the way. The survivors of this are now refuged in camps in Kenya, and Uganda.

Thats the background on the Lost Boys, by reading that im sure you can get a picture of how bad of a life these Lost Boys live. You will never truley know until you watch the video that i watched. This video showed the perspective of the a few lost boys, who told their true story. These boys are now in America trying to create a life that was better than their last. A boy, well hes a man now, said that he has yet to see his family. He hadnt seen them since he became a lost boy. I find this to be extremely sad.He also said that he goes back to Africa and helps out his fellow lost boys as much as possible.

I want to talk about a few things that the Lost Boys had to face, and some of these things are terrible. They had to watch as their parents were murdered. Watch as their villages and everyone they knew burned down. They had to cross rivers full of crocodiles and other dangerous animals. And travel through lands with lions watching their everymove. They all walked for monthes, even years. They became eachothers parents, and became mature. Burying the dead, binding wounds, and sharing sips of muddy water. When the littlest ones became too weak, the older ones carried them. When other became too weak, they simply lied down and died.

Finally after too long of a time, us Americans realized what was going on and we decided to help out.
The Lost Boys are extremely thankful for Americans who helped create the camps for them, this i heard straight from the source. We also gave many of them a chance for educations and sent them to the U.S. like the boy i previously talked about. Im so glad that we could do something to help them out. America is a very kind, helpful nation when it comes to helping others. And im thankful that i can be a part of that.

We should help out everyone, our countries people, and other countries people. Because bad things happen in this world, that we cant control. But we can help out, and we try. And thats all you can ask of us.

Forgive me.

Forgivness in my opinion , is a great trait to have. But somepeople, sometimes, can be too forgiving. I am one of those people. It dosnt matter how many times someone can hurt me or how terrible of a thing they did to me, i cant find it in my heart NOT to forgive them if they ask me for my forgivness or appoligize to. Because of this I get taken advantage of, and i hate it. I know im supposed to be able to control this, but i cant. Im too kind of a person when it comes to forgivness.

I believe that everyone should get second chances. Everyone should believe that. I go too far with this sometimes though, i give out chance after chance after chance after chance. And i get hurt, and hurt, and hurt and hurt. I let this happen, not purposely. I guess its kinda just in my nature. Whatever that even means.

I wish i could know someones true intentions before i go and forgive them and go and pass out chances. If only i could read someones mind, or if i could just tell if someone was being sincere or not, none of this would happen to me. Or to anyone in that matter.

Today, is a day of rambling for me. Rambling about forgivness, chances, getting hurt, being taken advantage of and all that sad horrible crap. Because i forgave someone yesterday. A person who used to be very much important to me, and i dont know if i made the right choice or not. I suppose time will only tell, but i seriously think that if this person isnt going to take this new chance seriously then im done forgiving. Ill do whatever it takes to stop being so darn nice, if thats what it will take to protect myself.

From this, i hope youve learned to not overly forgiving. Either that or take a long hard think about the person your forgiving before you actually forgive them. That way you'll have a better judgment on if they derserve to be forgiven or not.

Deal With It.

There are so many hard things i have to deal with in my life. Usually they arive sparatically throught out time, popping up when i least expect it. Lately, everythings been happening at once. Lifes happening, and im dealing with it.

When times get tough, and times are tougher now than ever. Its hard to figure out ways to cope with your sadness or handle your anger. Ive decided to do a little research to figure out some good ways to deal with life and its craziness.

With all lifes craziness comes stress. The first step to dealing with life is to recognize the things that make you unhappy and that are stressing you out. The next step is choosing a way to deal with this stress. I personally find it helping to keep a journal and write down all my feelings. Others might need someone to talk to. Some people relieve stress by exersizing or meditating. All are very good  ways to eliminate lifes stress.

Stress Relieving Tips That I Find Helpful
--You need to not sweat such silly things. Such as the weather, things that you can NOT control are not worth stressing over.
-- Pick a few small problems that you have going on. And solve them. Once your problems are elminated, theres no need to stress over them.
-- Prepare yourself for things. Such as a test, interview, or long talk with someone. If you prepare in advance, you will be more ready and sure of yourself when it comes. Leaving alot of stress behind.
-- When a conflict comes up with another person. (drama!) Try your hardest to talk to the person and work it out. Fighting and arguing only puts more stress on us.
-- Set up a regular work out schedule.  Exersize really relieves stress.
-- Eat well. Simply as that. Youd be surprised what a big negative impact caffine, sweets, and fast food have on your life.
-- Meditate. Or if your not into that, or think its weird, just put five minutes aside everyday to simply breathe. Without thinking of anything thats going on in your life.

These are all fantastic ways to deal with stress. Im seriously going to go home tonight meditate, set a new workout schedule, eat some healthy food, write in my journal and hopefully solve a few problems and eliminate alot of stress!

Kentucky .

My parents have recently decided that we are going to up and leave everything we have here in Ohio, to start a new life in Kentucky. They are positive that everything will be better for us there, and that us kids will be much safer and have a better chance at a long and happy life. Well, im thankful that they care so much. But in all honesty, i hate the idea of this.

Moving? Ive never even moved once in my sixteen years of living, and now my parents expect me to leave everything behind and move a whole state away! This is absurd. I dont know what to think. Everytime I try to wrap my head around this idea, i breakdown. Litteraly breakdown.

Everyone says change is a good thing, and normally i agree. With the exeption of this time. This time, change is too much. Such a big change in such a short period of time, without me being able to do anything to stop it is crazy. Everyone in my family but me wants to move. I dont like feeling like the odd one out. Or being a party pooper. In this case, thats my only option. I cant just agree. "Sure take me away from everything ive ever known. All my friends, my family, my job. Take a city girl and throw her out into the middle of nowhere. Ill be fine." If ONLY i could say that.

I have lived in the city all of my life. Now im supposed to move to a small town of less than 1,000 people. Columbus has more than a million people in it! And im supposed to downgrade to 1,000 people. Go from living on a block full of other neighbors, to living on 14 acres of land with JUST my family. No neighbors around for a mile or so. Gosh, this is too much change for me to cope with.

I really honestly want to belive that everything will be okay. But i just cant make myself believe that, because i know its not true. And to know that, simply sucks!

Well Webbville, Kentucky prepare yourself for me. God knows im trying so hard to prepare myself for you.

M U S I C

Music; there are so many different definitions of this word. And so many different genres that can fit under the category of music.Such as: Country, Rock, Alternative, R&B, Rap, Pop, Indie, Soul, Jazz, and many more! Music has been around since the beginning of time. Its a way of expressing yourself, a way of having fun, and a way of communicating. A lot of song artists, or writers express their feelings and sing what the have to say through a song.

A lot of people will choose one type of music to listen to, but i enjoy listening to just about every type. Music is music, no matter what way you sing it. And music is what makes me happy, i love to dance around and sing to music. Rap and Pop are the best kind of music to dance to in my opinion. But if I'm in the mood to just sit and sing to a beautiful song; country is what i choose.

Country is actually my favorite type of music. Its the kind of music that can make you feel something. Sit back and look at how every things going in your life, and think about how to make it better. It makes me remember things from my past. Appreciate my present and look forward to the future. My favorite country singers are Miranda Lambert, Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift, Braid Paisley and Dolly Parton.

Indie Rock and Alternative music would definitely have to be my second favorite type of music. A lot of people today think this kind of music is weird. They are right; it is weird. Its different, and unusual. Strange in a lot of ways. That's exactly why i like it. My favorite singers of these categories are Priscilla Ann, Regina Spektor, The Honey, and many more.

Music is great. Its more than great actually. People need to expand their taste in music, and try listening to different types. They can still have their favorites, i just think they should give every other type a go.
